RADHAA CLIMATE SAATHI

Local leaders. Practical climate action.

A village-level leadership pathway that helps trusted local champions translate climate knowledge into useful field action, peer learning and responsible community coordination.

WHO IT IS FOR

Lead farmers, women leaders and trusted rural climate champions

CORE ROLE

Connect knowledge, field practice and farmer-to-farmer learning

EVIDENCE

Training, activity, participation and learning records with clear status

01

Why local leadership matters

Climate information becomes more useful when it is explained by people who know the local crops, risks, language, institutions and everyday trade-offs. A Climate Saathi helps make that translation practical.

  • Build trust through local presence
  • Bring farmer questions into programme design
  • Keep learning connected to real field choices
02

What a Climate Saathi does

The role may include convening learning sessions, connecting farmers to demonstrations, supporting observation, encouraging peer exchange and helping programme teams understand local priorities.

  • Facilitate—not dictate
  • Connect people to relevant resources
  • Support inclusive participation
  • Document activity responsibly
03

Training pathway

The pathway is designed around climate literacy, local risk, soil and water basics, facilitation, safeguarding, consent and appropriate field documentation. Training completion is recorded as training—not automatically as field impact.

04

Farmer-to-farmer learning

Demonstrations, field walks and practical conversations let farmers observe, question and adapt an idea. The aim is not to prescribe one solution, but to strengthen informed local decision-making.

05

Safeguarding and conduct

Climate Saathis are expected to respect privacy, avoid false promises, prevent discrimination and follow clear conduct and grievance processes as those systems are approved and introduced.

06

What RADHAA measures

Indicators may include training completion, field sessions, farmer participation, questions raised, demonstration engagement and practice-learning signals. Every published figure must retain a definition and status.

07

Partnership opportunities

Partners can support a local cohort, contribute training expertise, strengthen facilitation materials or help build a responsible learning and verification system around the pathway.
